Long-term conditions

More than 15 million people live in England with a chronic condition and this is expected to rise over 23% in the next 25 years due to an ageing population. 1 in 4 will get a long-term condition or go onto develop one.  3 out of every 5 people over 60 suffer from long term diseases and 85% of all death is from chronic diseases. A predicted increase in chronic conditions due to an ageing population is projected to cost the NHS an extra 0.3 billion each year from 2010-2011.
